Christian marriage? Hi, a questiton for you who believes in Christinity. Why, there are a lot of Christians choose not to marry yet still live with partner like other married partners? Also, is there any teaching in Bible that states it's okay to have sex before marriage? Didnt in Bible, ones suppose to marry before they live as a couple? Thanks
Where can I find a good Christian marriage forum? Can you please help me find a good Christian marriage forum (respectful, helpful, safe, based on Christian principles)? Preferably gender specific. Am coming from a Mennonite background. Thank you for your advice.
Why is homosexuality wrong but sodomy in a Christian marriage is fine? I already know homosexuality is against God's design, but it doesn't make sense to me how sodomy in a Christian marriage would be okay just because it's a heterosexual marriage. Obviously not ALL Christians believe this, but some do. So while homosexuality is against God's design, I believe the sin of sodomy is more about the fact that it is not open to life. God gave Adam and Eve the commandment to be fruitful and multiply. You cannot be "fruitful" by not being open to life.
Christian Marriage? If you are a Christian and you met a non-Christian girl, is it wrong and against the Bible to date her or marry her? Isn't marrying a non-Christian okay and beneficial in helping them believe too? If they don't have a religion and is willing to accept something/spouse's religion?
Can I get married under both Christian Marriage Act and Special Marriage Act in India? I am a Hindu woman and my fiance is Christian (Roman Catholic). I will be converting prior to the Church wedding. Will our marriage then be registered under the Christian Marriage Act? If yes, then is it possible to also get it registered under the Special Marriage Act? I read about the Section 15 which allows for such instances. Any information on this topic would be really appreciated.
Have you ever been to Christian marriage counseling? My husband & have been married for 4 years & we need Christian marriage counseling badly. I'm wondering if it will really help us out, we don't want to divorce but don't want to go on living unhappy lives together either. Have you ever tried marriage counseling? How did it help you out? What should I look out for when selecting a good Christian marriage counselor?
Does Christian marriage cheapen or degrade the meaning of marriage for everybody else? They take vows before their God to stay together till death, but many of them divorce and remarry. They even say stuff how it's not a sin, or if they admit it's a sin they say God forgave them or they're not perfect, or whatever. They justify behavior the Bible clearly says is wrong. And they expect us to accept it! They attack marriage and devalue it like that. Is that why the divorce rate of society at large is the same as the divorce rate among Christians? That they have degraded it? Should Christians even be allowed to marry?
Christian Marriage Certificate valid for Visa purposes in India? I only have a Christian Marriage Certificate and now I want to return to India to live with my husband. Will that be possible for me to get a visa with church certificate only? I am from Brazil, and we got married in Chennai. He is in India and I am in Brazil now. What should I do?
Which is best marriage act for a Christian to get marry ? I am a pastor and we used to get people married under Indian Marriage Act, some people feel that getting married in court is less holy and they are asking me to take marriage licence. What is your opinion. How bad it is to get people married under Christian Marriage Act,
Is fingering allowed in a christian marriage? Is fingering allowed in a christian marriage? Me and my husband are very devout Catholics and want to know if fingering during sex in marriage is prohibited. Like, we finger each other. and answers that just say it doesn't matter won't help. I really need a strictly catholic answer. Thank you.
What's the difference between marriage and Christian marriage? The question pretty much sums up what I want to know. Also please tell me the difference between high monogomy and low monogomy...and traditional and untraditional. Has there been any studies done to suggest any "type" or religious background suggests a longer or shorter marriage?
What does "traditional Christian marriage system" mean? i have to write an essay on that but I dont know what traditional Christian marriage system means. So does it include the marriage ceremonies, the vow taking parts? or is it just that in the traditional Christian marriage system the bride and the groom must be Christians and that no divorce is allowed? thank youuu =)
If Marriage is Christian why has it existed in a variety different cultures all over the world for millenniums? Long before any Christian influence? I think 'marriage' came to be, not because some guy wrote it in a book, but because people naturally want to stay together, and from this natural attraction evolved the desire to proclaim and celebrate commitment, which many cultures for thousands of years identify as 'marriage'. I think this explains why marriages have existed long before the writing of genesis, and existed in cultures all over the world which did not have any christian influence. How do you explain it?
Does Marriage have a Christian background? If so, why would gays want to get married anyway? I have seen/heard so many christians type/say that Homosexuals are going to hell and they are terrible people, and then they say God loves us all. (dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb) This is obviously quite contradicting so if there is a christian background to marriage then why would Homosexuals want to even get married and become a part of something that does not accept them?
What is the difference between the love in marriage and love in a friendship? Christian answersare appreciated? christian answers are appreciated please. i'm 17 years old and learning how to truly love somebody. to me, the only way to love somebody is to serve them, protecting, being patient, giving etc. in a friendship, this is very easily attainable. however in a romantic relationship, emotions get entangled and it is so hard to focus on the true reason why we were created-- to do God's work. but how can one "court" or be married without having those emotions and attractions. what is marriage? how do christians know that that someone is the one God intended for them to be with?
Why is the assumption so often made that marriage is a Christian tradition? Do these people really believe marriage to be the property so to speak of the Christian church? It also seems interesting that many of them have a problem with the government telling a church it cannot endorse a political candidate but no problem with a church being told it cannot provide a legal marriage to a same sex couple.
In a Christian marriage, do you need a wedding? What the title says. If both people do not want a wedding, then is it not a true marriage? I heard to have a true marriage, it should include vows, people watching, and abides with the laws of the land. I thought if you have sex with someone, you have become one with that other person, and are so married to them in the eyes of God.
How does a Muslim marriage fit with the Christian religion? just wanted to know if anyone knows, what it would mean for a christian to have a muslim marriage, i know how a muslim marriage works, but i just wanna know if it is a sin? i see it this way...it means being married in front of God, and this is what matters.
What do you think of christian women seeking an "egalitarian marriage" instead of wanting to submit to husband? A woman who called herself a christian told me she was seeking a man to have an egalitarian marriage in which she would not submit to her husband. She said that she doesn't even want to hear people convince her that she should submit to her husband if she was married. She said that she had prayed over it and was still firm in her decision. I don't understand why she would pray over this issue when it is written in the bible that wives need to submit. Do you find this messed up?
Is the marriage between christian and Hindu valid if it is held in the church ? The church is in some remote place.. Gay marriage christian teens viewpoints? I know this is in the wrong section but i wanted to see what other people think. Are you in your own perception a christian, if you are , or even if you arnt, are you for or against gay marriage? WHY OR WHY NOT?
Is Sex Important in a Christian Marriage? Did you realize that the divorce rate among Christian married couples is exactly the same as that of non-Christian couples? The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers presented a study of the major reasons for the failure of marriages. They ranked "failed expectations or unmet needs" as the most important cause of divorce. I'm venturing to guess that those "failed expectations and unmet needs are usually in the bedroom. I'm going to purchase a book at http://www.sweetlovestore.com about this topic but wanted the readers input. Is sex important in a Christian marriage?
Woman of the Hindu faith and man of the Christian faith marriage? I was wondering if you have heard of such circumstances. Also, if you have can you include any pics of these couples. Thank you. Btw, do any men or women on here have this type of relationship? This is for a school project, so any advice or info would be helpful.
Why does the christian right seem to think marriage is only "sacred christian" thing? Are they all fools? most marriages in the US are done with a Christian minister or priest but that doesn't make marriage Christian. There are billions of Chinese that have non christian weddings so I suppose that takes away from the sacred part. They like to use this stupidity when arguing against gay marriage as if Brittney spears few day old marriage to her friend was a sacrament. How do they explain Americas astronomically high divorce rate?
Why do Christian Conservatives feel that the sanctity of their marriage depends on what Gay folks are doing? I've heard it said a thousand times that "allowing gay marriage would ruin the sanctity of the institution of marriage". Seriously - How does another person's vow ruin yours? If I take a vow of celibacy as a buddhist, it does not fall to pieces when a Christian drives by in a gold-plated Hummer, does it? Does marriage come with some special secret rights, like the ability to barge into a straight couple's living room and convince them to sin? Didn't think so...
Why don't we put Christian marriage up for the vote? I mean their is nothing objectively wrong (as in outside the Bible, which I'm sure will be the only argument I hear despite that it does occur in nature) with homosexuality. The only valid argument against it is "Because the Bible says it's wrong" since Webster blew the childish definition argument out of the water. But really, if it is okay to say no because of religious beliefs, then why not them? After all, Christianity is a choice, as you point out when trying to convert people.
Why Do Conservative Christian Defenders of Marriage Get Divorced More Often? Divorce Rates for Atheists are Among the Lowest in America How could this be? The difference in divorce rates is particularly interesting given the fact that the Christians getting divorced in the highest numbers are among the same Christians who are most likely to raise an alarm about the state of marriage in society. http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_dira.htm
What is the Christian position about the marriage of people who have no clear gender? Some people are born with gender ambiguity - they show signs of both male and female sex organs. Since I've heard from many Christians that Christianity considers marriage "only between a man and a women," where would these people stand? Would gender not matter in this situation and only the love between two people? Or are these people excluded from marriage?
Can a Christian woman and a Bahai man have a successful marriage? I put this question under Marriage too: but so far no-one seems to know about Bahais. Bahais believe in the same God that Christians, Muslims and Jews do, and are a very peaceful religion. I'd appriciate it if you only answered this question if you haveknowledge about, or experience of the Bahai faith, especially within the context of marriage. Ideally, I would have wanted a Christian marriage, but with the Church at 70% female and circumstances being what they are, basically the man in my life, who loves me deeply and wants to make “an honest woman” of me, is Bahai. I know quite a few Bahais but none in specifically mixed marriages with practising Christians. I'm worried at how this will impact our kids if we have any – he seems pretty adamant that the kids have to be Bahai. I'd especially like to hear from praticing Christian women married to Bahai men, and what their experiences were. We are both from western backgrounds, and both pretty serious about our respective religions.
What makes the best christian marriage? What is the best way to make sure you have a great Christian marriage? I mean to where the both of you can work on your past and current issues with out letting them wreck your marriage.
Divorce by mutual consent under christian marriage act? My wife and I were married under Christian marriage act before a marriage registrar in India. We would like to divorce under mutual consent. Both of us are now residing out side India. Is it possible for us to file a joint application for divorce while being out side India? I mean, should the application be done in person or can it be done by power of attorney? how and where do I obtain such an application? Should the filing of application be done at the same jurisdiction where the marriage was held or can it be done anywhere in India?
What happens in Christian marriage ceremonies? I know theres the: Questions Vows Exchangeing rings Nuptial blessing signing marriage register but i need to know a bit about each for RE and i cant find anything on the net about 'questions' so please can someone help?? x I'm asking more about the meaning and why each part of the ceremony is done. By the way I'm catholic and have been to weddings when i was younger so im not going to believe you if you tell me they cut the head off a chicken or whatever.
Why do the conservative reactionaries try to tell us that gay marriage is against Christian religious traditio But the plain facts contradict this claim. It's not just non-Christian religion that accepts gay marriage. Many Christian churches have religious ceremonies consecrating weddings for homosexual couples. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, the Unity Fellowship Church, the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, the United Church of Christ, the United Church of Canada, and Reconciling congregations of the United Methodist Churches include gay marriage within their set of religious rituals. So, when George W. Bush and his Republican supporters say that they want to use the power of government to forbid gay marriage, they are taking sides in a struggle between religious groups, supporting conservative religious beliefs and opposing liberal religious beliefs. The federal government has no place stepping into the middle of a battle about theology and telling Americans which religious beliefs are right and which ones are wrong. On that basis alone, the effort of George W. Bush and his Republican elite extremists to restrict the authority of churches from practicing marriage ceremonies for gay couples is an unconstitutional and illegal blunder.
What is your Christian perspective of marriage? What is your bible perspective of marriage? I have to do this for my class. I need to interview a few people who are already married and Christian. Would you like to answer those questions for me? 1.I believe that Marriage is . . . 2.I believe the role and responsibilities of the husband in marriage is . . . 3.I believe that the role and responsibility of the wife in marriage is . . . 4.I believe that sexual love in marriage . . . 5.I believe that children . . . 6.I believe the home environment should . . . WHAT ARE DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES OF CHRISTIAN marriage? can any one explain what are different types of activities included in an Christian marriage?....what r the main programs set.... i meant that the after the bride n groom kiss they r anounced as married couples then the bride throws the bouque to other girls n stuff like that...wanted to know what eles she does then... i mean with church functionssss what r those exactly
Should our government define marriage based on Christian idealism? In response to the people who answered my question regarding gay marriage. Many of you have said that majority rules which it does in our democracy but my question was is it fair to a minority of people to be out voted my a majority. Should I remind all of you that many laws that have been voted on by our majority of citizens were unjust? Do you not remember the fight to abolish slavery, the civil rights movement, and the women’s right movement? They fought the majority rules for many years until our nation was forced to recognize their worth as citizens and human beings. Now we are faced with a new fight for gay people. But to me this is more than a fight for gay marriage. This is a fight of religious idealism vs. secular thought. Someone said that marriage is defined as a union between a man and woman. This definition is being redefined through out the world to include same sex unions. Should our government define marriage based on Christian idealism?
Can someone help me find the christian marriage advice I really need? I am a christian and I take my marriage vows very seriously, so I don't intend to leave my husband, especially since we have a 2-year old son. As a result, I feel hopelessly trapped in a marriage that will leave me with unending pain, anger, disappointment and overall unhappiness. We have been married for almost 4 years. He insists on keeping a job with wierd hours. He won't finish school so he can get a better job either. He's always said we can't afford it. I recenly found out that's because he's been hiding $23,000 in debt from me (by lots of lies and deception). My pregnancy was a total off the wall surprise, but he still later accused me of getting pregnant on purpose. This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the things that he's done to me. I've tried to find christian marriage advice books, but they all seem to run under the assumption that the guys just getting on your nerves, not that he's a lying jerk. I'm embarassed to go to my pastor. Please help me, someone.
In a Christian marriage, what are the most important roles a husband and wife should take for one another? My fiance is a soon-to-be minister but I feel that sometimes he goes a bit too far and it feels like hes acting superior when he "preaches" to me. He thinks one of his most important roles is to edify me in Christ, lift me up and encourage me. Arent spouses supposed to kindof be equals? He wants to bring me to where he is spiritually. Im a strong Christian and Ill always strive to be better but im not unhappy with where I am. Anyway any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!
